Cutest meeting EVER!

Today we got to meet a family from 6 + hours away.
The grandparents have 4 adorable kiddos that didn't know they were getting a new puppy today.
The youngest,( I think 6), was the one who traveled the long journey to meet her new pup.
Mark, has the pictures and video and I'm hoping to share them soon!
We now have one little boy who would love to have a furever home!

Housebreaking new dogs and puppies/ Feeding time

Here are some helpful tips about

Potty Training your Puppy

I received from my vet when we brought Drake home.
Good luck and I hope this helps!

*Take your puppy out frequently
-immediately upon waking up
-immediately after playing (especially if your puppy voluntarily slows)
-15-30 minutes after and food
-minimum of 6-8 times per day (every 1-2 hours is optimal)

*Do not allow play until after your puppy has done its business

*Utilize the same location each time

*Allow your puppy to sniff around

*Crate your puppy when not supervised

*Put bells on your puppy so you know where it is at all times; this way you can interrupt and correct

*Be consistent

*Be patient

*Maintain regular feeding times and no free access and take up food after 30 minutes

*Walk you puppy on a leash

*Use vocal commands (potty, go pee....)

*Use odor eliminators and appropriate cleaning

You will notice that no mention of punishment for house-breaking has been made because punishment has virtually no role in housebreaking a dog. Animals and people make associations between acts and consequences; this is how we learn.  Startling is the most appropriate correction.

Feeding Guidelines for your Puppy

*Feed your puppy individually two to three times a day until 6 months of age, then 2 times a day for the rest of its life

*At each meal, offer a large bowl of food for 15 minutes. After this time, remove all food and do not offer any other foods until the next meal time.

*Always have clean water available to your pets

The pups are so BUSY now its hard to get pics on my phone and my big camera was charging so here is the best of our play session last night.

We said good-bye to our little blue collared male last night.
He has a wonderful forever home not to far from us!  He will be joining another golden and a little dog.

Information

Hi Families!  This post contains some information that I thought you might find helpful.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me.

When you pick up your puppy, he or she will have received their first set of shots and will have been wormed every two weeks from 2 weeks of age.  I give puppy packets with copies of the parents AKC registration papers, pictures of the parents, a packet to keep track of immunizations and worming.  I will supply you with a zip lock bag of their current puppy food: Costco's Nature's Domain grain free puppy food, and a towel from their pen with puppy scent on it.

Below is the wormer that your puppy has received at 2 wks, 4 wks, 6 wks and 8 wks.  Your puppy will need to be wormed once a month from now on.

Below: The vaccination your puppy received at 8 weeks old. (I will update tomorrow when I buy the vaccination, this was from the last litter).

Below are some of the papers that I received when I registered our dogs. Just to give you an idea.

Below:  The trial is now 30 days.

Below: In the puppy packet that you receive from me the following health record will be included.

More SNOW!

This first time it snowed I was sooo excited!  After over a month of snow on the ground and then another storm Tuesday that brought another 12+ inches my excitement has faded.  I still think its beautiful to look out my kitchen window at our field below but I also think it would be beautiful to visit the same scene in the mountains!  Our big dogs absolutely LOVE the snow still. Today our high was 21 degrees and the big dogs could care less!  The pups could care less too!  They are staying warm in the garage and with extra snuggles!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

From our family to yours, we wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous year!

The past two weeks almost seem like a blur!  The last 3 days of school before break were snow days so our Christmas break activities started early.  Our daughter turned 2 on December 23rd and this started the party wagon.  My house just now seems to be back to normal!  We had a wonderful Christmas with my side of the family and we celebrated New Years by playing games with my parents and our kids and going to bed early!  Today is prep day.  They boys go back to school tomorrow (if the storm we are getting doesn't cause another snow day!) and my husband goes back to work after taking a week off.  Calisee and I will have a quiet house, except for some very talkative puppies!
