Information post....

Hi families!
This is 1 post of 2 tonight.
This post has information regarding your puppy and the next post will be pictures!
Tomorrow the pups are 8 weeks old and ready for their furever homes!
Today I finished up their puppy packets and gave the first vaccination
to our two females who leave the nest tomorrow (males will be vaccinated tomorrow).
Vaccinations you can purchase from your local farm store and administer yourself or many of the stores offer a discounted walk-in day (hold your puppy).  The rabies vaccination has to be done by a licensed vet in which you can take to your regular vet or the walk-in clinic.  The rabies vaccination should be done at 6 months, 1 year and then every 3 years after that.
Please check with your vet as recommendations change often and depending on your area.

Some information:

PLEASE don't take your puppy out in public until they have at least had their 3 sets of vaccinations at 8 (done), 12 and 16 weeks old as they are not fully protected. Again, check with your vet as to what vaccinations your puppy needs for your area.
Parvo can live in the soil for 6 months to a year. Here are some links with info:

This is the vaccination your puppy received from me at 8 weeks:

I take the information off of the vile and put in on the wrapper so you know
exactly what your puppy received. This will be in their vaccination chart.

Below: This is the worm medication your puppy received at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks old, this will need to be repeated monthly and you may also want to add heart worm depending on your area. This is a liquid and as they get older you can use a chew-able tablet.
Wrap it in a treat (cheese, peanut butter, etc) and its much easier.

Puppy Packets!
I have prepared packets with your puppies registration paper work if your wish to register them along with mom and dads registration information, pictures and a vaccination record chart.

We feed our big and little dogs Costco's Nature Domain, grain free, dog food.
Below is a picture of the puppies food. I will send home a gallon zip lock bag of their current food; if you wish to change please mix a little of the new food (more and more each day) to the old food so as to not upset tummies.

Dogs on the other side of the mountain from us can get flees, in Central Oregon this tends not to be a risk to us and your puppy does not (non of our dogs ever) have flees.  You may need to treat if you are in a climate that flees enjoy.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
